EastEnders’ Sharon Mitchell has spent the last few weeks desperately searching her real father.

Finally, it appears as though the Albert Square beauty - played by Letitia Dean - is set to come face to face with her birth dad in an upcoming episode of the BBC1 soap.

In new scenes shot last week, the character takes husband Phil Mitchell - played by Steve McFadden - to a tumbledown housing estate where she suspects her long lost parent is residing.

When the couple arrive, they spot a bearded drunken man standing at the front of the house which Sharon suspects belongs to her father.

Before approaching him, the pair opt to stay back and observe for a little while.

Oblivious to the fact he's being watched, the scruffy stranger - played by Stephen Marcus - who portrayed Nick the Greek in Lock,Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - shoos a group of local kids away from his house.

Frustrated by the fact that they were sitting on his garden wall, he aggressively throws a can of beer at one of the youngsters.

Clearly unfazed, one of the children decides to throw the can right back at him in retaliation and he eventually cowers back inside his home.

After keeping her distance for a short while, Sharon, was raised by Den and Angie Watts, eventually plucks up the courage to approach the front door and press the bell.

The drunk then answers the door and after engaging in a short conversation with the blonde, summons her in as though he had been expecting her.
