He may only be a few weeks old, but little Sailor Gardner is already a jet setter.

Liv Tyler and partner Dave Gardner treated their son to his first trip away on Saturday, touching down in Miami, Florida, - and heading straight to the pool.

The couple were joined by their two boys, Grey and Milo, for a relaxing day at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach.

No doubt Liv was excited for some family time and a chance to kick back after nine months of pregnancy through a very bitter New York winter.

Keen to put the cold behind her, the 37-year-old stepped out in a simple black one piece bathing suit.

Despite looking great post-pregnancy, the star wore her swimsuit with a stylish sheer patterned cover up that featured a black and white psychedelic pattern.

Obviously a light packer, Liv had worn the same Isabel Marant kaftan over pants to fly out to Miami the day before.

Letting her natural beauty shine, the Empire Records star wore no makeup on her porcelain skin but did add a pop of colour thanks to some bright red lipstick.

With the baby having a nap and their two older boys - each from a previous relationship - playing, Liv and beau Dave got a chance to have some time to themselves.

The pair found a quiet spot in a cabana to have some mom and dad chats.

And the couple certainly found plenty to talk about and even seemed to get a little deep at one stage with a passionate Liv pulling some very animated faces.

But seems it was not an argument because the new parents stopped talking and snuggled into each other, with football agent pulling his actress love in for a tender kiss.

Dave - who is best friends with David Beckham - was really in the holiday spirit.

The baby boy managed to sleep his way through the check in process at JFK.

Born back in February, it is understood the Liv's little man was six weeks premature but despite that and an extended stay in hospital, he was looking very healthy on Friday.

Until the flight, fans have seen the youngster's feet and tiny hands in Instagram's the star has posted.

In a picture posted this week the actress said: 'OMG im completely besotted with these amazing little hands. I just can't believe I grew them in my belly. So filled with love [sic].'
