AP, Mar 27, 2015 (emphasis added): [It] was billed as a way to decipher where, exactly, the morass of nuclear fuel might sit at the bottom of reactors… But what went wrong, even in a simple demonstration for reporters… was a sobering reminder of the enormous challenges that lie ahead… a programming glitch could not be fixed in time for Friday’s demonstration… No one knows where the molten fuel debris lies, and in what shape or state. [TEPCO] has said it likely sank to the bottom of the plant. But the fuel could have dropped even beyond. Tadashi Yotsuyanagi, an official in charge of the muon project at Toshiba… acknowledged the technology will not be able to get the complete image toward the bottom of the reactor… David Ireland, a professor who heads the Nuclear Physics Group at the University of Glasgow, said muons may be the only way to probe inside atomic reactors. “There are not really any other noninvasive options that will allow inspection,” he said in an email.

The Japan Times published the AP report above, however one sentence was altered. Tepco has said it likely sank to the bottom of the plant. But the fuel could have dropped even beyond” vs. “But the fuel could possibly have escaped even beyond the containment facility to the outside environment.”

IAEA technical meeting Managing the Unexpected, Harri Tuomisto, Sr. Nuclear Safety Officer at Finland’s Fortum Power, 2012:

  • Part 4: “If the cooling is not successful, it means the corium melts through the vessel… When this massive amount of corium enters into the containment zone, there are very, very many different energetic consequences… Interaction of molten core and concrete starts… concrete is eroding, and this eroding of concrete, for a long time it was known as China Syndrome.”
  • Part 5: “The corium will be in 3 parts, there is a solid crust formation in the bottom of the pool, then there’s a pool of oxidic materials… The metals and oxides are not soluble with each other and the metals will be separated… which is bad news in the sense that the heat transfer to the vessel is much higher, and it’s much more difficult to guarantee the integrity of the [containment] vessel in that case.”
  • Part 6: “Molten corium on the containment floor, it’s eroding the concrete and going partially downward. Actually it will never go to China, because it also erodes sideways… The final size of the pooling maximum case is 10 to 15 meters in diameter, and 6-7 meters [20-23 ft or 2 stories] deep — or even deeper.”
  • Part 9: “There are quite many challenges… There are different energetic phenomenon… which can lead to different combustions… accelerating flames, or even detonations — which can cause a very high pressure in the containment and even break the containment… Then there’s this China Syndromeattack of containment liner by corium — which can also bypass containment.” (See US gov’t analysis: Fukushima containment breached due to “failure of the drywell liner by melt-attack)
  • Slides 3-4: If corium melts through the vessel, there are various energetic consequences caused by ejected high-temperature molten corium… Molten corium on the containment basemat initiates core-concrete interaction that releases aerosols and non-condensible gases to containment atmosphere and erodes the concrete (‘China syndrome‘)

      Why not? Hmmmmmmm?

Maybe because they have to HIDE much more, and if the truth came out about how many reactors have REALLY melted down, and if people knew what REALLY happens during ANY nuclear reactor melt down, the whole industry would be shut down and thrown out of towns so fast, it would make their heads swim.

Nuclear; what could go wrong? Eeee.Elll.Eeee.

Harri Tuomisto makes the point that when considering risk, one must include all accident initiators, natural and man made. Is that a dry sense of humor? Why not admit the nuclear risk assessment goes down in history as one of the biggest, most moronic failures in science?

"Tritium can deliver a radiation dose, if it is taken inside the body. Such an intake could occur by breathing tritiated water vapor in the air, or by eating or drinking tritium-contaminated foods or water. Even though tritium radiation cannot penetrate skin, tritiated water vapor in the air, like regular water vapor in the air, may be absorbed through the skin. Likewise, a person might absorb small amounts of tritiated water through the skin when swimming or wading in contaminated water. A developing fetus could also receive tritium absorbed into its mother’s body through one of these routes."

Tritium Dr. Rosalie Bertell "Tritium may be considered a very effective distributor of radioactivity in the environment since it is exceedingly mobile as tritiated water, and can travel everywhere that water can travel. The human body, all tissues and cells, are composed of about 70% water. About 80% of the atoms in the human body are hydrogen atoms, which can be replaced by tritium. Tritium has multiple pathways to humans: via inhalation and drinking water, through ingestion of food, and absorbed through the skin. The International Atomic Energy Agency, depending on ICRP, ranks tritium based only on its disintegration energy, which is low in comparison with other known radionuclides. However, the very large emissions of tritium both from hydrogen bomb explosions and from the CANDU nuclear reactors, makes this dose calculation important for humans and their environment. The potential for binding with important molecules in living organisms adds to concerns. A major error in the ICRP estimation implies major health and environmental problems!"

It's the FALKLANDS SYNDROME! Fukushima MELTDOWN to cause '10,000 Chernobyls' in South Atlantic

    Brits in secret evac cover-up

    April 1 2015

"The scientific computer modelling developed in past weeks shows that in fact the molten reactor-fuel blobs are so incredibly hot that even the liquid interior of the planet is cold compared with them. Thus, the so-called "Leidenfrost effect" comes into play, the same phenomenon which makes a drop of water skitter about on a hot skillet or permits a person to put their bare hand into liquid nitrogen unscathed.

The cores are enveloped in a layer of metallic plasma vapour, causing them to slip almost completely frictionlessly through the liquid planetary interior. As the super-heavy, molten uranium blobs from Fukushima fell thousands of miles without resistance towards the centre of the Earth, they accelerated to enormous velocities.

"Our calculations show that the cores fell right through the centre of the Earth at high speed, so fast that momentum carried them almost back up to the crust again on the other side before gravity slowed them to a stop. Then they accelerated back down through the planet's centre again, repeating the process," explains Dr Glick."

They were hit by earthquakes and tsunamis wildly beyond what they were rated to withstand, in the second worst nuclear power disaster that has ever happened anywhere.

And as a result … absolutely nobody's health has been or will be measurably harmed. That's a pretty impressive safety performance.

Yeah, Daiichi is a complete success: 3 reactor cores melted down and out with total containment failure, exactly as planned and predicted when subjected to stresses that exceed design limits. A further triumph of the nuclear industry is that there are no operating nuke plants in Japan at this moment, a very safe endeavor. Money sent into the black hole of cleanup costs is another tribute to return on investment in nukes.

"On 3/23/2015, Board of Audit of Japan reported the financial support from the Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation to Tepco sums up to 9K billion (9,000,000,000,000 / 9 Trillion in US way) Yen by now. [9,000,000,000,000.00 JPY = 75,240,000,000.00 USD]

The Nuclear Damage Compensation and Decommissioning Facilitation Corporation is invested by Japanese government and other power companies.

The corporation plans to collect the fund from Tepco’s profit and sales profit of Tepco’s company stock. However the company stock is only valued at approx. 1K Billion Yen.

From their simulation, it may take over 30 years to collect the entire fund, but they admit it can take longer than that.

Unless they boost the stock price of Tepco, they would not be able to collect the fund."

It boggles the mind. Putting materials in a vessel that is able to contain them when only certain conditions are being met but when the conditions fail so does the vessel, has been a massive blunder, maybe the most massive, humanity has ever done! For this specific blunder, greed is it's reason for being. Science knew from the get go just how dangerous fission reactors were. The guy that put the first design of one on paper (later becoming the type at Fukushima Daichi) was asked about his design and where he would put one if he were to build it. He answered "I wouldn't put one anywhere on this planet.". Sums up this catastrophic blunder pretty much. It just sucks having to be within it's consequences.

"Pascale characterizes communication of the risks surrounding disasters natural or man-made are really political struggles to control the level of public awareness of events and their consequences, and to control the meaning people will attach to big events.
"How knowledge about disasters is reported can have more to do with relations of power than it does with the material consequences to people's lives," Pascale says. IOW, power calls the shots, the media works for power, and we the people are just the livestock to be kept fat and happy as we're herded into the slaughterhouse chute. It's not about truth, or about helping the public understand the nature of a disaster, its risks and how they may protect themselves from harm. It's about keeping them as clueless as possible so that power can do as it pleases without having to explain the political, economic and social choices it makes that create and/or exacerbate broad-scale risks to the public."

    April 1, 2015
Strontium-90 and Cesium-137 density in rain and dust increased over 1,000% of when Chernobyl accident took place, according to nuclear regulatory agency.

This is based on their data base but back data of each year is not attached.

The graphs below are titled as “Change of Sr-90 and Cs-137 density in Japanese rain and dust over the years (1974-2012)”. The specific location is not mentioned.

Their report says the monthly fallout of Sr-90 and Cs-137 had been decreasing since they banned atmospheric nuclear test in 1981.

However it increased in 1986 due to Chernobyl accident. It went back to the decreasing trend since then, but they observed the increase after 311 again.

Their data reads the highest density of Sr-90 was approx. 10 MBq/km2・month in 1986. However it jumped up to nearly 1,000 MBq/km2・month in 2011.
Also regarding Cs-137 density, it reached approx. 500 MBq/km2・month in 1986 but it went over 10,000 MBq/km2・month in 2011.
