He became a proud first-time father seven months ago when his partner, Eva Mendes, gave birth to their daughter, Esmeralda Amada.

But the Hollywood actor, 34, was forced to spend Easter Sunday away from his leading ladies as he touched down in Paris ahead of the French premiere of his latest movie, Lost River.

The Canadian heart-throb, who was raised Mormon, was flanked by a team of handlers as he made his way through the terminal at Charles de Gaulle Airport after an overnight flight from Los Angeles.

The star looked casually cool as he disembarked his long-haul flight, wearing a red suede jacket over a black hoodie and a graphic T-shirt emblazoned with skulls and bones.

With a tan-and-red baseball cap atop his head, Ryan completed his look with black trousers and a pair of decidedly worn black leather boots.

Toting a stylish brown leather duffel bag, the actor was whisked away from the busy airport to a luxury hotel in the picturesque city.

Ryan is not expected to be spend much time in Paris, as he's currently filming the financial drama, The Big Short, in New Orleans.

The film focuses on men who made millions from the recent global economic meltdown, and features a star-studded cast, including Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, and Steve Carell.

It was also recently announced - without explanation of her role - that Grammy-winning singer Beyonce will be joining the line-up of Hollywood heavyweights.

The Big Short is a film adaptation of Michael Lewis' book, The Big Short: Inside The Doomsday Machine, about the key people involved in the build-up of the housing and credit bubble, which led to the financial crisis from 2007 to 2010.

The movie is being produced by Brad Pitt and directed by Adam McKay, who is known for comedies such as Anchorman and Talladega Nights.

Away from the big screen, Ryan and his longtime love Eva, 41, are one of the most private couples in Hollywood, and have worked to keep their daughter out of the public eye.

Esmeralda is the first child for the glamorous two-some, who have been together since meeting on the set of the movie The Place Beyond The Pines in 2011.
