It is time to bring some spring and a touch of green into my decor! The first thing that comes to my mind is a topiary, inspired by an English garden and one of my favorite shows. . . Downton Abby that just started its new season. Yay! This adorable little green arrangement is the perfect way to bring some height to a vignette or add an element of nature to your dinning table, window ledge or mantle. For my topiary I chose the ivy leaf, you could use any leaf that could be cut to develop and maintain clearly defined shapes. I love that these pretty topiaries are so versatile, also perfect in wedding decor or at a baby shower. Last year I made a DIY topiary with crepe paper so this year I decided to make one with metallic paper. It is quite elegant for a diy paper ivy topiary and is it just me or does it look real? For me the trick to making it look like the live version is mixing the colors as well as folding the score lines. For the mix of paper colors I chose Gumdrop Green, Botanic, Lime Satin and Lime. I luv luv this idea….. I have a question please. When the instructions say “print wate color wash on green paper” how is that achieved ? Thank you in advance.
I have included the watercolor wash pattern as a pdf in the post. Just print the watercolor wash on a green paper to get the effect.
Where would you say this ranks on the difficulty scale? And do you happen to remember how long it took you to make one?

It is actually fairly easy and a lot of impact!! About 1 hour including the cutting (if you have a personal cutting machine) good luck!!!

What gorgeous topiaries! You’ve done it again! Thank you for sharing these with us. From the photos, I’d guess that the foam balls are about 5″ and 3″. It also looks like you used about 3 sheets of each color green for the leaves. Is that right? Any guidance you can provide is helpful. Thanks again! Debi

I used a 3″ and a 5″ styrofoam ball and about 3-4 sheets of each color. Have fun!!!
