Organizing the New Office Space

Office_Corkboard_Pattern This week is a week of new beginnings for me! I have always dreamed of having a creative business where I can join with a group of like minded and make things happen. Well, after 17 months of working solo (and very long hours), I am delighted that two talented ladies have joined me in my little studio. To make space for more work spaces we did some major rearranging, clearing out the craft room and redesigning it as a full on creative office. I will share photos of the finished room and the new craft room soon, but today I will show you how we made a jumbo cork board that is not only a perfect place to keep our inspiration for upcoming projects, but is oh so stylish too! This cork board wall was made from 12 packages of the cork tiles from Michaels. We attached them to the wall after measuring and marking the area it would cover. We then used the painter’s tape to make the graphic pattern and painted with a quart of white wall paint. What a great way to keep our creative inspiration organized as we jump into the next phase of the growing business. This would make a great cork board for a student too, don’t you think? ~ Lia

  3. At first I thought the two new talented ladies were the two snoozing on their daybeds!

I’ve never left a comment here before, but Lia – you do the most amazing work…voted for your wreath on Facebook – have you heard any news? I just want to thank you for all the free printables, and labels, and flowers, and tags, and….

I hope you are very successful with your new venture! And tell those two talented new ladies to get off their beds and get to work!

    • Ha Ha! I will tell those ladies to get off their bed and get to work;-) They have been great company but happy to have two additional talented ladies on-board! Thank you so much for your vote on the wreath, I won!

  4. Congratulations on the new changes of your work life!!

  5. Hi Lia~ Just looking at your site with Jilly (aged 10). Love seeing the changes you’re making to your space (and the cute shot of Enzo). Jilly always asks to look at your site and likes all your projects; she’d like to see something a kid could do.

  6. Wonderful and beautiful idea! Cork was boring for me, but with this design it will be considered. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Your work is beautiful. I love your paper flower DIY instructions. I am waiting for your book to come out? Any plans? Keep up the lovely work and good luck with new endeavors.

  8. Lovely space emerging here, can’t wait to see the rest of it in due course. Very lucky ladies to be able to join you, I would love to be working with someone so talented.

  13. Love it! Looks just like you!

    • Thanks Pamela! It is funny because after we finished it I went to one of my private pinterest boards where I pin office inspiration and there was a jumbo cork board in one picture and gold and white chevron wall in another. Ha! It truly is what I was wanting. :-)

  14. This looks stunning, Lia– so eye catching! I’d love to do this at my new house… just on a much smaller (and cheaper) scale. Can’t quite swing $144 for a cork board…even one THIS cool. :)

  15. Congratulations! What a major step! It’s looking good. Does this mean you’ll be selling your stool/step?!?!? :)

  16. Awesome idea…. just love it. Thanks for sharing.
