Rosie O'Donnell shares Throwback Thursday photo from Nineties with longtime pal Madonna and notes snap was taken 'before we had kids'

There's nothing like going through hard times to make you appreciate your old friends.

And through her recent tough times, Rosie O'Donnell was showing the love for the happy days of her friendship with BFF Madonna as she posted a Throwback Thursday snap of the pair to her Twitter account.

The talkshow host captioned the shot, '#TBT me n mo pre kids', which showed Rosie and Madonna relaxed sitting at a table with former The View host apparently blowing out a candle.

The pair are still close after they starred as Mae and Doris, respectively, in the baseball fan favorite A League of Their Own in 1992. 

Back in 2009, O'Donnell told Howard Stern that she studies Kabbalah like the singer.

Last month Madonna, 56, told US Weekly that the friends are still as close as ever.

'I adore her,' Madonna said, noting that the two first bonded because they lost their mothers at a young age. 

'That was our bonding for sure, but we have other things in common. She has adopted children and so do I. She's funny and so am I.

'We have a lot of the same likes and dislikes,' she added. 'Doesn't she make you laugh?'

The women also make the time to visit each other at their homes.
