'I wanna be a lesbian': Bethenny Frankel tells Ellen DeGeneres being gay looks good because men are 'more stupid than you could imagine'

Bethenny Frankel has joked that being gay sounds appealing.

The Real Housewives Of New York star told Ellen DeGeneres on Thursday that it was her dream to be a lesbian after claiming that all men are 'stupider than you could possibly imagine.'

The 44-year-old was speaking about her new book I Suck At Relationships So You Don't Have To: 10 Rules For Not Screwing Up Your Happily Ever After, and divulged that one of the tips was to stroke men's egos.

Bethenny recently split from her much younger boyfriend of more than a year, Michael Cerussi. Before that she was wed to Jason Hoppy.

'In general I think that women tend to emasculate men,' she said. 'We think that the're stronger than they are and you have to really make them feel better about themselves, because women are hard on men, we really are.'

The brunette added, 'I think that women and men don't necessarily understand each other. Women are much crazier than men would even imagine, and men are much more stupid than women could possibly imagine. They are much simpler creatures than us.'

Orange you glad we found Bethenny Frankel's MCQ Alexander McQueen skirt?

Reality personality and author Bethanny Frankel made a shocking revelation on the Ellen Show. She declared that "men are stupid and would rather be a lesbian."

She was adamant about her bad luck when it comes to dating while looking great in a white top, orange skirt and nude statement belt. Her brightly colored skirt with pocket details is from the popular brand MCQ Alexander McQueen.

In our opinion this is a great first date skirt to wear for a potential suitor. Are we right ladies? The cotton-blend McQ Alexander McQueen skirt has a front pleat and flap pockets. The look is modern, but still on trend with the revival of the seventies for spring 2015.

You can get Bethenny's exact skirt on sale now at The Outnet for under half the price it retailed for! We have also found great options in every budget down below.

She claimed there were a very limited number of things men care about, including 'sleep, the remote, the dog, poker and drinking.'

The Bravo wonder also said she thinks men expect women ' to be on their jock when you walk in the door at night.'

She then cheekily added: 'Actually that's not true, they would like you to be on their jock. But they don't want you to want to talk.'

The Skinny Girl creator said men only care about 'sleep, the remote, the dog, poker and drinking', as well as 'you not being on their jock when you walk in the door at night'

After listening to her berate the less fair sex, the openly gay host thanked her for 'reinforcing that I've made the right choice in life.'

The Skinny Girl entrepreneur then revealed she wished she played for the same side as DeGeneres.

'Oh Ellen, If it could be that easy!' she exclaimed. 'That was my dream. Recently I was like "I wanna be a lesbian."'

But the 57-year-old quickly shot her down: 'No you cant just make that decision. It doesn't work that way, you really have to be one,' she smiled. 'Don't try to join our club.'

Frankel recently rejoined the cast of Real Housewives after a three season hiatus, during which she had a brief stint as the host of her own daytime talk show which was cancelled in February of last year after just five months.

She reveled the reason she initially left was because the show had become about gratuitous arguing, as new housewives had joined the cast with preconceived notions of having to fight and throw things at each other.

I'm back: Usually stoically hard-faced Frankel broke down in tears on The Real Housewives of New York's season premiere, after rejoining the cast following a three season hiatus

During the first episode of the new season which aired this week, the mother of one breaks down in tears as she discusses her divorce, and complaining that her ex Hoppy now lives in the luxury Manhattan apartment she paid for, describing herself as the 'richest homeless person in new York'.

During the show she also admits she hated being a talk show host: 'I'm glad it's over, I didn't enjoy it,' she said. 'I felt like a crossing guard.'

In her book, Frankel disses 'a guy' she was dating, presumed to be her former toyboy, 35-year-old financier Michael Cerrusi, whom she recently broke up with.

She claims 'a guy I was dating' showed up at her house one night after 'several drinks' looking for sex.

'I felt like he was jerking me around, making me play second fiddle to his social life,' she wrote.

She also declared - again without attributing it to anyone specifically - that 'sometimes, I'll look at someone I am dating and think, "I can't believe he just did that. What an a**hole".'

'I am the girl who is up writing books at four a.m. while the guy I'm dating is probably out getting bombed at some sports bar,' she wrote in the book due out on April 14. 'He says he is envious of my ability to multitask, but I am envious of his ability to sleep in all morning when he can. I can't do that.'
