All hail - the queen has arrived.

It wasn't the most regal of poses but Beyonce certainly landed at Coachella in style.

The singer announced her arrival with a looping gif of her dancing on the tarmac after stepping off her private plane on a windy airstrip near Indio.

With arms extended and lips pursed, Mrs Carter basked in the sun for a moment as she prepared to head to the world famous weekend long music festival.

Wearing heavy black boots and a long floral-patterned kaftan, a black floppy hat and shades, Queen Bey rocked the perfect mix of style and practicality in the desert's heat.

The Crazy In Love hitmaker clutched a black fan-shaped purse in one hand and a bottle of something-that-looked-like-apple-juice-but-probably-wasn't in the other as she struck her best Christ The Redeemer meets Michael Jackson pose.

As the considerable wind buffets her kaftan about her legs and takes hold of her purse, the 33-year-old just drinks it in and bops her head as the goofy gif loops.

She captioned the vid simply 'Coachella' with emojis of some flowers and, of course, a queen bee.

Moment earlier she had posted a snap out of the plane window, as the aircraft circled the desert valley in preparation for landing.

In all likelihood Beyonce is only at the festival as a guest rather than a performer. She's not on the line-up, but Coachella is famed for its secret guest performers, with surprise stars making unannounced appearances on stage that are amazingly kept very well under wraps.

Last year when her little sister Solange played, Beyonce joined her on stage for a song, but fans who attended weekend two were disappointed when she didn't appear a second time.

The Festival broke into two weekends in 2012, and although the line-ups are identical, the surprise guests tend to differ between them - otherwise they wouldn't really be a surprise - which leaves fans in a crap shoot when trying to decide which weekend they should take in.

Either way Beyonce is probably just there to enjoy herself as she is still on vacation mode.

She and husband Jay Z just got back from a romantic trip to Hawaii where they celebrated their seven-year wedding anniversary, where they were snapped riding in the back of a pick-up truck.

It is likely the 45-year-old accompanied his wife to the festival, but for now she was happy to enjoy her moment of arrival solo.
