Tor.com FAQ

Is this the website for Tor Books? Where can I find information on upcoming releases or ask about my favorite books?

The website for Tor and Forge Books is at www.tor-forge.com, and they’ll have information on all their titles and their manuscript submission guidelines. You’re at Tor.com, a blog and community site for science fiction, fantasy, the universe, and related subjects.

So if you aren’t Tor Books, who are you guys?

We’re our own special corner of Macmillan, the publishing company that also encompasses Tor Books. We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dream. You can read more about us here.

If I register for the site, will I gain superpowers?

Depends on your definition. If you register, you’ll get our weekly newsletter of highlights from the site and access to members-only stories and wallpapers. You won’t have to verify your humanity with a CAPTCHA every time you comment, all your comments will be aggregated under your chosen username, and you can use your profile page to keep track of interesting users and conversations.

I tried to comment, but it’s not there. What happened?

Our spam filter may have flagged your comment, especially if it contains links, and we’ll have to approve it manually. Comments of an inflammatory or threatening nature may be wholly or partially deleted at the moderator’s discretion.

What if I see a comment I think the moderator should deal with?

Hit “flag” on the comment and we’ll be notified. You must be a registered user and logged in to flag a comment.

Do you have an RSS feed?

We have two:  you can follow our front page (full, or partial), and you can follow our original fiction podcast here.
