Playful nature! James McAvoy cosies up to his wife Anne-Marie Duff... before goofing around with Tamsin Greig on the Olivier Awards red carpet

They are one of the acting world's most loved couples.

And on Sunday evening, James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff put on a show of affection as they arrived at London’s grand Royal Opera House for the noted Olivier theater awards.

The pair, who have been married for almost nine years, appeared to be in content and relaxed spirits as they posed together on the star-studded red carpet.

James, 35, looked incredibly dapper in a tailored two-piece suit, which he teamed with a crisp white shirt and a silky black tie.

His leading lady dressed her lean and slender frame in a gorgeous black strapless gown, complete with embellished floral detailing and a heart-shaped bodice.

Her lightly coloured tresses were styled in a chic updo, while a slick of dark pink lipstick, dark eyeliner and lashings of black mascara gave the look the perfect flourish.

Turning heads as she walked passed, the 44-year-old actress lovingly gazed at her handsome husband while making her way through the glittering crowd.

James and Anne-Marie were joined on the red carpet by Green Wing’s Tamsin Greig and fellow actress Haydn Gwynne.

The stars seemed quite happy to appear together as they embraced each other and even shared a laugh while James later playfully grabbed Tamsin’s waist.
