Jey Uso

Few Superstars have arrived in WWE with more of a pedigree than Jey Uso. Along with his brother Jimmy, Jey is a member of the legendary Samoan Anoa’i Family, which includes such luminaries as his father Rikishi, his great uncles The Wild Samoans and even The People’s Champion, The Rock.

The Usos begin each match by approaching to the ring performing the Siva Tau, a traditional Samoan war dance meant to strike fear in their opponents. While embracing that aspect of their heritage, Jimmy and Jey have been determined to show the WWE Universe they are fully integrated into American culture from the onset. A more modern representation of their family, the pair instantly dismissed stereotypes of savagery commonly associated with Samoan grapplers.

Jey & Jimmy Uso are the next generation of Samoans, not performing barefoot in beads like his island-born WWE Hall of Famer great uncles, but rather in more traditional in-ring trunks and boots. Jey’s style represents the seamless blend of Samoan tradition and American innovation. Ironically, his competitive nature and pursuit of success is emblematic of his ancestors’ most renowned qualities.

The acceptance of their heritage inevitably paid dividends for The Usos, who joined the list of Anoa'i Family luminaries who held tag team championship gold in WWE. The twins toppled the New Age Outlaws in March 2014 to become the WWE Tag Team Champions, then proceeded to defend their titles against all comers. That fighting spirit did the brothers well, until they ran into the relentless team of Gold & Stardust that is. Jimmy and Jey lost their titles to the duo at Night of Champions 2014, but not before holding the titles for an impressive 203 days.

Jey & Jimmy nearly won back the titles at WWE TLC 2014, when they took on The Miz & Damien Mizdow. The brothers won the bout by disqualification after The Miz bashed Jimmy with a Slammy Award, but the WWE Tag Team Championship cannot change hands in that manner, unfortunately for The Usos. However, the brothers regained the titles on the final Raw of 2014 after Miz was pinned with a double-superkick and a top-rope splash. The brothers went on to successfully defend their championships against Miz & Mizdow at Royal Rumble. Jimmy and Jey lost their titles to Tyson Kidd and Cesaro at WWE Fastlane.

At the WrestleMania 31 Kickoff, Jey and his brother were unable to regain the WWE Tag Team Titles in a Fatal 4-Way WWE Tag Team Championship Match.

Of course, Jey Uso doesn't need to look in a mirror to make himself ready to fight. Fighting alongside his identical brother, Jey knows that earning in success in WWE means taking care of the family business.
