She's set to turn nine on April 18 - and so Katie Holmes threw her daughter Suri Cruise a magical birthday party.

The pair looked very funny as they tried on matching giant orange comedy glasses and pink feather boas as they gazed at each other in an Instagram picture.

Putting their fingers to their lips, Katie, 36, captioned the super cute image with the words: '#humpDAAAY!!!!!'

They also tried on lots of costume jewellery, posting a picture of lots of their friends hands all modelling colourful plastic rings, with Katie writing: 'Some serious bling #party city.'

Some time later, the actress also shared a video of moving bubbles, adding the words: 'Making magic.'

The lovely duo have been having lots of fun times of late and last week, they enjoyed a fun-filled trip to Disneyland Resort's California Adventure theme park in Anaheim, California.

The outing came just after it was claimed that the little girl has not seen her father, Tom Cruise, 52, for a year.

Recent reports indicated that 'Tom has not seen his youngest child in almost a year and has not been a part of her life,' according to a latest TMZ story.

Tom has been busy filming the forthcoming Mission Impossible 5 sequel across the pond in London but 'was off work for two weeks after shooting wrapped yet never saw Suri.'
