For these Hollywood A-listers, it's not enough to show off their talents on the silver screen, they're also dominating the field of hospitality, lending their skills and star-power to developing some of the world's most luxurious accommodations.

Robert de Niro's Greenwich Hotel in New York City has long been a celebrity favourite, while the Andy Murray-owned Cromlix Hotel, near his hometown of Dunblane, was named Scottish Hotel of the Year in 2014.

Here, MailOnline Travel looks at the most beautiful, and in some cases, the most surprising, celebrity-owned hotels from around the world.

In Belize, many of the Blancaneaux Lodge's luxurious, secluded villas comes with its own private pool and a personal attendant.

Not a bad deal, considering the Garden View cabanas start at $279 (£186) per night.

Nestled into the country's breathtaking Maya Mountains, guests will be able to take in the stunning scenery - including waterfalls - from the comfort of their rooms.

The property was originally a Coppola family retreat, where the A-list clan went to escape the stress of Hollywood, but opened to guests in 1993.

With an on-site spa, riding stables and two dining options, you never have to leave the resort if you don't want to, though staff are happy to arrange excursions, including to the nearby Caracol Archaeological Reserve and Tikal ruins.

And for the more adventurous, there's even the potential to see the area's famed night jaguars - if you're brave enough.

Longtime environmental crusader, Leonardo DiCaprio, is taking his passion one step further with the recent announcement of his plans for Blackadore Caye in Belize.

The 104-acre unpopulated island, which he purchased in 2005 for $1.75 million, will soon be home to a luxury eco-resort, scheduled to open in 2018.

With over-water villas, artificial reefs with 'fish shelters' and marine grass nursery, DiCaprio hopes to help rehabilitate the area, which suffers from sand erosion and over-fishing, with his new multi-million dollar resort.

The newly-opened Cromlix underwent an extensive refurbishment ahead of the 2014 Ryder Cup when Murry transformed the Victorian Perthshire mansion into a luxury 15-bedroom, five-star property.

Situated in the picturesque Scottish countryside, the hotel is set on 34 acres of secluded woodlands with its own chapel and house loch.
