Ryan Gosling 'in negotiations' to star alongside Harrison Ford in sequel to sci-fi classic Blade Runner

Ryan Gosling could go back to the future to star in the sequel to sci-fi classic Blade Runner.

The sequel will take place 'several decades' after the 1982 film which was set in a dystopian 2019 Los Angeles, Variety reports.

Harrison Ford - who played Rick Deckard in the original - is expected to reprise his role.

It is not yet known who Ryan will play in the new movie, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Depending on how Harrison will be featured in the project, his casting already proves interesting in light of two very different theories about his character.

If you haven't seen either endings of the movie then this could be somewhat of a spoiler.

There have been a total of seven versions of the original film, that were the result of changes made by various executive producers.

These have included a Director's Cut in 1992 and The Final Cut in 2007.

Many have debated over whether Harrison's character Derick is actually a replicant, so if he were to appear decades later and as he appears now - this would go against that theory.
