She's currently taking a break from work, indulging in a sunny holiday with her family.

And Penelope Cruz, 40, really seemed to have let loose as she enjoyed a vacation in Australia, alongside her handsome Hollywood star of a husband, 46-year-old Javier Bardem.

The A-list couple looked the picture of carefree joy as they spent time on a gorgeous beach and in the ocean at the world-famous Byron Bay.

The actress cut a youthful figure with a huge grin splashed across her face, as she emerged from the sea in a striking one-piece swimsuit.

The black garment flattered her trim and toned curves perfectly, while also accentuating her ample cleavage.

At one point, the movie star beauty threatened to spill out of the front of her plunging swimming costume, but luckily her chest remained encased.

The petite star also revealed herself to have lean legs that appeared rather long thanks to the cut of her black item of swimwear.

With her soaked hair scraped back off her face and with a pair of stylish sunglasses on her face, the brunette was the epitome of laid-back happiness as she spent the day soaking up the rays with her husband.

Meanwhile Javier looked just as chilled out as his stunning wife.

The Skyfall star sported a pair of knee-length shorts in black to match Penelope's beach look, while flaunting his handsome smattering of chest hair.

And the couple, who have been together since 2007 and married since 2010, are clearly still well and truly in the honeymoon phase.

Still in the honeymoon phrase: Penelope and Javier may have been married for five years, but proved they're still deeply in the throes of heady romance, as they put on VERY amorous display in the ocean

No letting go: The couple spent a while in the water together, locked close as Penelope pulled a silly face over her man's shoulder

They couldn't keep their hands off each other as they took a dip in the cool, blue sea together.

The Spanish stars packed on the PDA with an amorous kiss and cuddle while submerged in the water, locking each other into a tight embrace.

It wasn't just a day of sun, sea and relaxation for the pair, though.

Javier was also spotted grabbing a body-board for a spot of action in the sea, while Penelope stayed on dry land to build sandcastles.

The movie star was seen with a striped towel tied around her shapely hips as she held up a couple of beach buckets, perhaps getting ready to build something out of the sand.

The pair have been holidaying with their children - son Leo, , and daughter Luna, - in the New South Wales coastal location.

And their idyllic day at the beach must have come as a great relief for the family, who have been Down Under for Javier's work schedule.

The whole tribe is Down Under to spend time with Javier while he stars in the blockbuster franchise The Pirates Of The Caribbean alongside Johnny Depp.

Penelope starred in the fourth installment On Stranger Tides, playing the movie's femme fatale, but it's not yet known if she will reprise her role for the current flick.

He's a lucky man: Javier only took his eyes off his gorgeous wife for a split second, and it's easy to see why

Perfectly match: They moved in-sync with each other, as long-term couples often do

Expert movie villain Javier will play the pirate killer Captain Salazar in Dead Men Tell No Tales, and his character is out to exact revenge on Captain Jack Sparrow, believing he killed his brother.

The Spanish star is well known for playing calculating villains, including James Bond baddie in Skyfall and Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men, for which he won an Oscar.

Meanwhile, fellow Oscar-winner Penelope had stalled her career, preferring to devote her time to bringing up the couple's children.

Busy time: The couple and their two children are in Australia as Javier works on the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales

She told The Mirror: 'You need to have time for your own life and as a mother that changes even more.

'Family is the most important thing for me... and if you have children you want to raise them yourself.'

But this year will see the charismatic beauty back in action with several projects in the pipeline, including Spanish film Ma Ma, Sacha Baron Cohen's Grimsby comedy and Zoolander 2 opposite Ben Stiller.

The couple first met on the set of Spanish film Jamon Jamon when Penelope was just 18 and their friendship blossomed into a romance 16 years later, while working on Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona, before they tied the knot in 2010.
