'I'm a bit gutted!': Joey Essex steps out in sunny yellow jacket... as he claims PM David Cameron snubbed him for interview

He's been trying to demonstrate his integrity within the world of politics.

But Joey Essex, 24, let the side down on Sunday when he stepped out in a bright yellow jacket and matching neon trainers - an outfit that certainly wouldn't stand up in the Houses Of Parliament. 

Former TOWIE star Joey had just told BBC Radio 5 Live that Prime Minister David Cameron had turned him down for a one-to-one ahead of the elections.

He was followed by a film crew as he left BBC Studios at the weekend as he continues to film for his TV programme Educating Joey Essex.

Joey is preparing a special edition of the programme, which is designed to help Joey become grow a better understanding of the world around him, this time with relation to politics.

The new programme is entitled Educating Joey Essex: General Election, What Are You Saying? for which he is hoping to interview each of the political leaders ahead of the vote. 

Though Joey said on Sunday: 'It's a shame - I'm not meeting David Cameron. I've met everyone else, out of the MPs.

'I did really want to meet him, but it's not happening...' said Joey, who is expected to bag time with Liberal Democats' Nick Clegg, Labour's Ed Miliband and Ukip's Nigel Farage in the 60-minute show, which will run ahead of the polling day.

He continued: 'I am a bit gutted. I can't say he's not reem,' and explained the word as meaning, 'nice, beautiful, everything good in one word,' earlier that day.

Leaving the studio for a shopping spree on Sunday, smiling Joey looked like he was in a sunny mood when he sported the banana-coloured jacket.

The reality TV star slicked back his hair, which fell naturally in a centre-parting, with one hand before shooting the guns at the cameras.

On Twitter, he said: 'Filming in London all morning and a quick shop up. And now I'm on my way back to Essex' 

Joey wore his black T-shirt tucked into his skintight jeans to outline his frame and he made progress on black shoes with neon accents.

The Essex boy was fully kitted out with a large watch on one wrist and he even carried a camouflage hat.

Joey looked like he was still in filming mode when he hit Versace, proving his dedication to the documentary.

Speaking recently about the political special, Joey said: 'I've never voted before, but I'm really excited about getting to meet some of the most important people in the country to help me make my decision,' before adding 'I reckon I'll take some pretty reem selfies too.'
