Lighter evenings, sunny weekends and the fast approaching British summer mean this time of year is sees a rise in drivers buying convertible cars.
That perhaps explains research indicating it is most costly period to snap one up, with inflated prices reflecting the extra demand.
The British weather, it seems, does little to dissuade buyers. Britain is the second biggest convertible market in Europe, according to industry statistics.

At the top of the range, the Lamborghini Aventado costs more than a quarter of a million pounds, while you won’t get much change from £200,000 for a Ferrari 458 Spider.
However, there are bargain convertibles out there, even on the cusp of summer. Data compiled by used car specialists Motors.co.uk for This is Money shows the most popular convertible being searched for at the moment is the Mercedes-Benz SLK.
It shows potential buyers are best off targeting one that is three years old with 20,000 to 30,000 miles on the clock.
In good condition, the target price should be £20,000. Brand new, they start from £35,000.

1. Mercedes-Benz SLK
Target price: £20,000
The SLK is most popular convertible on the Motors website. It describes the car as sporty and classy, and says it is a 'real showstopper.'
2. Mini
Target price: Just under £10,000
The Mini convertible is a common fixture on British roads and the fun motor can be picked up for four figures with 20,000 miles on the clock, according to Motors. It also describes it as 'mega cheap to run.'
3. BMW 1 Series
Target price: £15,000
Motors say this is a popular car because the German badge keeps its value. It adds that it has come down in price since the launch of the 2 Series, but it still 'looks great'.
4. Mercedes Benz E-Class
Target price: £23,000
The second Mercedes in the list, Motors describes it as a classy car with a classy cabin to match. It says: 'If you want executive and want to pay, this is for you.'
5. Peugeot 207
Target price: £8,000
Motors describes the 207 as a car that looks great, has a stylish interior and is smooth to ride - and is one of the cheapest convertibles on the list.
6. Audi A3
Target price: £15,000
The Audi A3 is reliable and had a top quality interior, according to Motors. It adds that some of the models are cheap to run and it's a stylish convertible.
7. Mazda MX-5
Target price: £9,000
This dinky convertible is fantastic value for money if you want something sporty and sleak, according to Motors.
8. BMW 3 series
Target price: £21,000
Motors says the 3 Series is a great convertible option for families, with efficient engines and 'mega stylish' interior and exterior.
9. Renault Megane
Target price: £10,000
Motors says this French model has a spacious cabin which is well equipped. It adds that it is a fantastic looking option for those with a mid-range budget who want all the kit.
10. Peugeot 206
Target price: £3,000
The cheapest motor on the list on the account Motors says buyers should target one which is eight years old and has around 50,000 miles on the clock. It describes it as an ideal first time convertible because of its good looks and great drive.
