Many celebrities often tone down their style in favour of casual and comfort when flying across the United States.

However, Kate Upton stayed true to her model credentials when she made a very stylish entrance at Los Angeles airport over the weekend.

The Florida-raised blonde, 22. showed off her fabulous legs in a pink and black pleated skirt as she sashayed through LAX airport.

Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton is very much demure-looking at a recent sighting at LAX. Unlike photos of her modeling, she is very covered up in a black cardigan and printed pleated skirt.

Kate really dug up her closet as the flame print pleated skirt is vintage Prada, part of the Spring Summer 2012 collection. The bold border print is brilliantly designed, giving much flair to her outfit. The skirt is definitely an oldie but a goodie.

The bombshell completes her ladylike airport outfit with black pumps and wayfarers, almost reminiscent of the glamorous Jackie O.

Fun printed pleated skirts are the best way to jazz up an outfit. With fashion being print crazy at the moment, expect anything from marble to portraits to abstract prints to add a little whimsy to the plain-ole pleated skirt. She teamed her flame-patterned skirt with a black cardigan and pumps and carried her leather jacket as she touched down in sunny California.

The model, who was noticeably absent from this year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. had been in Detroit visiting her baseball player boyfriend Justin Verlander.

The couple have been in a long-distance romance for several years, with Justin based in Michigan with his baseball team the Detroit Tigers.

Last Thursday, the pair attended the John Varvatos Detroit Store Opening Party hosted by Chrysler and posed on the red carpet together.

In a recent issue of Marie Claire magazine, Kate admitted they had a competitive element to their romance.

She said: 'I was so competitive with him, and he constantly kicked my a*s. He'll beat me at Spades. He's better at trapeze…Oh! I beat him in foosball!'

In the same interview, Kate also spoke of how being named Sexiest Woman Alive by America's People magazine affected her family.

She said: 'My parents were pretty funny about it. They told me, "We went out to dinner and dressed a little nicer because our daughter is the Sexiest Woman Alive".'

Now back in LA, Kate is expected to resume filming her new movie The Layover.

The comedy stars Kate and Lea Michele as two friends who go on a road trip together.
