Phwoar, just like Thor! Chris Hemsworth shows off ripped abs and his package too in National Lampoon's Vacation reboot

He's ripped to shreds thanks to his role as king of the Norse gods, Thor.

And it seems that Chris Hemsworth wasn't afraid to show off the fruits of his labour once more when starring in new movie National Lampoon's Vacation.

The 31-year-old hunk from Melbourne will go topless in the upcoming comedy, and it's also been reported he gets his package out too - but that's said to be a prosthetic according to MTV.

An audience at The Colosseum At Caesars Palace in Los Vegas were shown the trailer for the sixth instalment of the National Lampoon's Vacation series on Tuesday as part of a Warner Bros. presentation at CinemaCon – and it was the highlight of the night for many.

Hemsworth is said to star as a successful Texan news anchor – and husband of Leslie Mann who stars as the Griswold's daughter Audrey, Rusty's now grown-up sister.

Ed Helms becomes the fifth actor to play Rusty, while Christina Applegate plays his wife Debbie and mother to their two sons as they finally take a trip back to legendary theme park Wally World 32 years later.

The next generation: Ed Helms will play the grown up Rusty, now married to Christina Applegate, while Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will return as Clark and Ellen Griswold in the new instalment

Of course no Vacation film would be complete without the original patriarch Clark and his wife Ellen, whose roles are reprised by Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo.

The return trip to Wally World will be the sixth on-screen family outing for the Griswolds, following their disastrous original trip there in 1983, a European vacation in 1985, a Christmas Vacation in 1989 (and a second made for TV Christmas vacation in 2003), as well as a trip to Vegas in 1997.

Fans of the series won't wonder why Helms and Mann were cast as the Griswold kids - Rusty and Audrey were played by the revolving door of actors and actresses in each film which became a running joke in the series.

Anthony Michael Hall and The Big Bang Theory's Johnny Galecki have both played Rusty once before, while Juliette Lewis played his sister Audrey in Christmas Vacation.

While the kids may have changed (again) and Chevy might have gotten a little whiter on top and heavier down below, some things haven't changed.

The family are still driving that hideous mint green wood panelled station wagon, Clark still has that same blissfully detached smile, while Beverly D'Angelo's face appears to be frozen in time too.

Recent shots from the set show the Griswold's hitchhiking in the desert, hinting history may repeat itself and that the Family Truckster might not last the drive once again.
