'For those of you who have lost someone else you were close to, you also tell me you know how I feel,' the actress continued about her beloved 'Abba' who died earlier this month, on the second to last day of the Jewish holiday, Passover.

'But you don’t. Because you’re not me losing my Abba,' she added.

'Abba' means father in the Hebrew language.

The mother-of-two explained how her father had been living in a hospice for two months, so the family had some time to prepare for their loss.

'We had months to process and love and grieve and rage at God and all of that,' she wrote.

Still, nothing could quite prepare Mayim for the pain and grief she would feel following her father's death.

'I appreciate condolences and care and love, but I am alone in the singularity of my loss,' the Blossom star penned.

'Jewish mourning is profound and I am deep in it. I hope to be able to share more soon.

'For now, I am praying a lot. And remembering a lot. And crying. And also laughing.

'Because to every thing, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.

Under the Jewish tradition, there is a seven-day 'Shivah' - which is an intense mourning period in which family members abide by certain restrictions.

Though, when someone of Jewish faith loses a parent, he or she is considered to be a mourner for an entire year.

Within her blog post, titled 'Mourning My Father's Death,' Mayim shared a few precious pictures of her and her father.

She also shared one of the same images on Instagram, writing, 'I have been absent from social media because my dad died. Read about it: www.kveller.com.'

Mayim is well-known for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS' comedy, The Big Bang Theory which airs on Thursday evenings.
