'It was decades ago': Jerry O'Connell responds to ex Giuliana Rancic's claims that he cheated on her with Geri Halliwell

Jerry O’Connell has responded to claims by ex-girlfriend Giuliana Rancic that he cheated on her with Geri Halliwell.

The Fashion Police star, 40, alleges she was ‘two-timed for one of the lesser Spices’ by the actor in her new tell-all book, Going Off Script.

So when Jerry appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, a caller wanted to know what he made of Giuliana’s memoir.

‘I didn’t think that much of it,’ the 41-year-old admitted, not confirming or denying the claims, but refusing to speak ill of his former girlfriend. ‘She's a very nice girl. I don't want to say anything negative.’

He went on: ‘She's a very nice girl. We had a very fun time. It was decades ago. I don't believe cell phones were used then. It was like horse and buggy... It was a while ago.’

Jerry didn’t flinch when host Andy Cohen posed the question to him, instead giving some background to anyone unfamiliar with his former flame.

‘For those of you who don't know, Giuliana Rancic is a personality on another network,’ he said. ‘And we dated, then we didn't date.’

Giuliana, who was in a relationship with Jerry from 2003 until 2004, reflected on the moment the Sliders star told her about his alleged affair – and she was not impressed with his apology.

'"Yeah, I know. I’m so sorry. I don't know what happened." He had as much emotion as the customer-service representative who tells you your bags missed the flight,' the host wrote in an excerpt obtained by Page Six.

While Giuliana gave Jerry another shot after his rumoured fling with Ginger Spice, their romance ended abruptly when he met Rebecca Romijn, who he has been married to since 2007.

The reality star recalls attending Maxim’s 100 Hottest Women Party in 2004 with the actor, where he first encountered his future wife. 'Little did I know he was in the VIP area, talking up Rebecca. As a prelude to feeling up Rebecca,' she wrote.

Giuliana claims Jerry was unreachable after he met the X-Men star, so she went to his house and was unceremoniously dumped.
