Juliette Lewis takes a solo stroll in the rain as she's seen for the first time since her father Geoffrey passed away

Her father Geoffrey Lewis passed away earlier this month aged 79.

And Juliette Lewis was seen for the first time since the actor's tragic death, taking a rain-soaked stroll in New York on Wednesday. 

The 41-year-old actress cut a lonely figure as she tried to protect herself from the downpour with a black umbrella.

Juliette wore black leggings for the outing and wrapped a denim shirt tightly around her shoulders.

She scraped her dark locks into a casual ponytail and appeared to be make-up free.

The Cape Fear star may have just come from a workout as she sported turquoise running shoes and carried a patterned holdall as she trudged through the rain. 

Since his passing, Juliette has paid tribute to her movie star father with several touching Instagram photos.

Shortly after the sad news was announced, she capioned a snap of the father-daughter duo: 'My dad. My dad my dad my dad my dad. My love my dad. My dad. My hero. My dad. My dad my love my loving father. My strength my might. My friend. My hugs. My laughter. My love. My dad. Oh my heart. My heart. He loved us so. He loved us so. So so much. I am forever my father's daughter and he will never been gone.

Geoffrey was best known for being a fixture in a series of Clint Eastwood movies including High Plains Drifter, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot and Any Which Way But Loose.

The actor passed away from natural causes at his home in Woodland Hills on April 7.

He is survived by his wife Paula Hochhalter, daughter Juliette and nine other children including Lightfield Lewis, Brandy Lewis, Dierdre Lewis, Peter Lewis and Matthew Lewis. 

Meanwhile, Juliette can be seen in ABC show Secrets & Lies opposite Ryan Phillippe.

She plays Detective Andrea Crawford investigating a murder in which Ryan's Ben Crawford is a suspect.
