Rumer Willis was only a teenager when her mother, Demi Moore, started dating heartthrob Ashton Kutcher in 2003.

But the now 26-year-old Dancing With The Stars standout was impressed that her then-40-year-old mother could land a hot guy like 25-year-old Ashton.

'I was kind of impressed,' Rumer told Howard Stern on Wednesday. 'I was like, "Yeah girl, get it!"'

When talking to Howard on his radio show, Rumer did admit that her mother's choice after divorcing Bruce Willis initially seemed a little odd.

'It was definitely weird at first,' she said, noting that he had been a crush of the three Willis girls before that.

'The perspective switched quickly. That’s when you open up your Teen Beat, you take him down, and put somebody else up. I feel like I told my sister that at some point: "Gotta cross him off the list!"'

The new relationship may have been helped by the strong friendship that developed between Rumer and Ashton, especially after he married Demi in 2005.

'He was a really great stepfather,' explained Rumer, who stayed friends with Ashton even after he and Demi divorced in 2013.

Ashton has since gotten engaged to his former That '70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis, with whom he has a baby.

Rumer also had nothing but positive things to say about her parents' behaviour after their divorce in 2000.

'It's something that I commend them for so much,' Rumer said.

'They made such a huge effort that we never had to split up birthdays or vacations. We literally would all go together.'

'They had this weird thing where they literally just became friends,' the former couple's eldest daughter noted.
