Colour blocking Cate! Blanchett's silk skirt-and-top ensemble matches Bulgari Art Award's winning painting at gallery
Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has already attended many award shows this year.
But on Thursday evening, the 45-year-old Australian actress was at a ceremony of a different kind, the Art Gallery of NSW's annual Bulgari Art Award- and she dressed for the occasion.
The intimate dinner was held to celebrate Australian abstract art painter, Ildiko Kovacs, who was announced the winner of the award and also happens to be a friend of the Hollywood A-Lister.

Cate appeared to have chosen her gown in honour of the winning blue and green painting, while also matching Ildiko's black strapless gown.
Smiling proudly as she posed for photos with her friend, the blonde beauty looked divine in the colour block combo.
The outfit featured a light blue and black silk shirt paired with a voluminous wrap skirt of the same colour combination.
And it appears to have been date night for Cate, who attended with her husband Andrew Upton, with the pair leaving their new baby daughter Edith and three sons at home for the evening.

'For me it’s a really important part of being at Bundeena, I love the ocean,' she said
'The ocean has always been my lifeline, hence Onda being called wave – a lot of my work I guess is the rhythm of the wave, it’s my response to nature,' she added.
