'It's crazy,' the star said during a visit to KTLA 5 on Tuesday, adding that the reality really hits her when she goes to Ethel Kennedy's house and sees family photos of JFK and RFK and Teddy.

'Only when I go to Ethel Kennedy's house and the family pictures are - that's the normal - oh there's Teddy playing tennis.

'There are those moments and I take a step back. Everything has a positive, a challenge to it. So for the most part, it's great.'

Speaking about the event, Cheryl added: 'Keep It Clean is a campaign backed by Waterkeeper and we're trying to get the message out to keep water clean, keep it safe so people can drink it, swim in it and fish in it.

'We've brought a bunch of comedians together such as Sarah Silverman, Ray Romano and Brad Garrett... and everybody's getting up on stage and doing some funny things. We're raising some money and raising awareness to keep our water clean.'

Former Entourage star Perrey Reeves looked festive in a silky green strapless dress with black heels and black clutch.

Sarah Silverman went casual in black jeans, graphic print T-shirt and leather jacket, but as she was also among the evening's entertainment, she no doubt wanted to be comfortable.

Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Ray Romano and Brad Garrett all suited up for the fundraiser.
