Rangers claim PFA treble: Smith, Davis and Wilson claim awards

Rangers pulled off a clean sweep at the PFA Scotland awards dinner. Steven Davis was named Player of the Year, Walter Smith was confirmed as top manager and Danny Wilson picked up the Young Player of the Year gong.

With the SPL title already in the bag, midfielder Davis was thrilled to pick up a personal prize.

The Northern Ireland star said: 'When you look at the players who have won it before, it's a real honour.'

Teenage defender Wilson hailed veteran Davie Weir as he picked up his award: 'Davie has been a big help and he should have been Player of the Year.'

Manager Smith added: 'We've needed a good group to get us through the last few years.'
