Toddler mumbles then turns red after being served vodka on cruise ship

A company that manages a Hawaii dinner cruise says it mistakenly served alcohol to a 3-year-old boy.

Bingyan Cai says her son Michael's orange juice contained vodka while they were aboard the Alii Kai Catamaran on May 26.

Cai said she noticed her son turning red, acting unruly and mumbling so she tried his drink and tasted alcohol.

'His whole ears, his neck. I don't know if he's allergic to alcohol. He just got really red and he just kept mumbling, 'Momma it's hot, it's hot,' she said.

'He was just so wild, so full of energy and tried to run here and there but couldn't even stand straight.'

She says she notified the boat staff and was given water, but was told not to make a fuss as to not ruin the ride for tourists.

Cruise manager Roberts Hawaii apologized in a statement, saying they are mortified by the error.

The family received a nearly $300 refund for the dinner cruise.

'If he had drunk the whole 12 ounces, it could have been very fatal for him at this age,' she said.

Cai says she does not plan to sue.

'I want to raise public attention first of all. If you review the situation, then Alii Kai cruise will try to handle it more seriously instead of just 'hush, hush.' I want their whole server system to change.'
