'Just call me Martha Stewart!' Samantha Armytage appears fresh despite double duty shifts as she brings tray of Anzac biscuits to Sunrise set... but did she bake them?

Samantha Armytage has had her hands full of late juggling her regular 6am program as well as the 6pm news bulletin on Channel Seven.

But despite the gruelling early starts, which she's likened to a form of Guantánamo Bay torture, the Sunrise host managed to look remarkably fresh on Friday.

She even found time to bring a tray of Anzac biscuits to her breakfast show co-stars and dubbed herself the 'Martha Stewart' of the team on social media, but with such a hectic back-to-back schedule, could she possibly have baked them?

In a cute snap shared on Instagram the bubbly 38-year-old is seen beaming as she raises a tray of the treats, no doubt brought in honour of Saturday's centenary commemorations.

Looking her usually flawless self, Samantha appears surprisingly well rested and sports a perfectly coiffed blonde bob.

'Just call me Martha Stewart. I baked the crew some Anzac biscuits,' she wrote alongside the snap that also sees a sighing Natalie Barr shrugging her shoulders in the background.

'Nat is a non- believer in my culinary skills*.

'(*Small print; Nat is right. I bought them. Ain't nobody got time for baking this week)', she joked.

The blonde has been flat out this week as she covers the 6pm news bulletin for regular host Mark Ferguson, who is currently in Gallipoli for the 100th anniversary of Anzac day.

But in addition to the extra shift, Samantha found herself on call for an extended breakfast show on Tuesday due to the wild weather in Sydney.

It was only on Sunday that Samantha revealed she has been struggling with her early starts for Sunrise, saying she often feels 'fragile.'

Speaking in an interview with Hamish McLachlan, she said: 'Remember I get up at 3.40 every morning — and sleep deprivation is a form of torture they used at Guantánamo Bay, so I can be fragile at times.'

Despite this, a spokesman for Seven told The Daily Telegraph, 'there was no better person' than Samantha to step in and help with the coverage this week.

They added the network had faith in her ability to helm two flagship shows and said: 'It’s an example of not just Sam’s, but our entire team’s incredible work ethic and experience in covering unfolding news events,” the spokesperson continued.

Samantha herself said she relished the challenge and was happy to help out in a situation when it was 'all hands on deck.'

She added: 'For major breaking news events like this it’s a around-the-clock team effort from everyone working in the newsroom and on Sunrise.'
