'Someone drove into my car and now MY premiums have gone up': Drivers' insurance costs soar after accidents that weren't their fault - even if they don't make a claim
The policy, adopted by the majority of car insurers, means that cautious drivers end up paying for the mistakes of other more careless drivers through their car premiums. Drivers complain of being penalised for their honesty - after all if they don't tell their insurer they might never find out and their premiums remain unaffected.

The company sold its Aguas de Antofagasta water utility business to a Colombian outfit for more than £642million and its shares soared to close to the top of the leaderboard - up 4.7 per cent. Diego Hernandez, the chief executive of the copper miner, said it will use the money to focus efforts and investments on new mining projects, and analysts predicted it could mean M&A; deals or that it will return cash to shareholders. Investors hoped it could be the latter and shares climbed 35p to 784.5p.

The UK's richest young musicians revealed: Sam Smith storms into the top 20 but none can match Adele's £50million fortune
With an estimated £12million in the bank, London-born Sam Smith has landed a spot on the Sunday Times Rich List of the UK's top 20 wealthiest young musicians. But his fortune pales into insignificance compared to James Bond theme tune singer Adele, who tops the list with an estimated £50million fortune, even though she has not released an album since 2011.

LEE BOYCE: Is Tesco the next Woolworths: jack of all trades and master of none?
If Tesco is not careful, it could become the next Woolworths. Beloved Woolies was also once a British staple, which seemed like would never disappear. Tesco is trying to be a one-stop shop for everything. Electricals, clothing, mobile phones, banking - the majority just want to go in for their weekly food shop. It could be its downfall.
The 40 money-saving tricks everyone needs to know: Pay for everything by credit card, buy your Christmas crackers in January and get paid to shop . . .
Feeling the pinch? From claiming for compensation if your train is delayed to splitting TV costs, here Money Mail looks at 40 ways you can save money. Our cars were written off while parked on the drive, so why are insurers still arguing?
A mum and her teenage son have faced a year-long battle with insurers after their cars were written off while parked on their own driveway. Sixth-form student Josh Coultas and his mother Jaki Cowling were sitting in their front room when they heard a loud bang outside. Looking out the window, they saw his red Ford Fiesta, which had been parked on their driveway, was in a neighbour's garden.
How saving works: Your essential guide to building up a nest egg
There are many good reasons for saving. A rainy day fund can give you protection against unexpected bills or losing your job. Tapping into your savings is also the key to many of life's major events, such as buying a car, getting married or buying a home. The good news is that once you decide to get that saving habit there are ways to make it work even better.
Estranged bankrupt son forced his gran to buy four iPhone contracts - and O2 wants her to keep two at cost of £100 a month...
My estranged bankrupt son forced his grandmother, who is 85, to buy four iPhone 6 Plus mobile contracts from three operators for him, his wife and two daughters as Christmas presents. Virgin was brilliant and cancelled the phone charges; 3 insisted the contract be paid up; and O2 has insisted she pays £100 a month to the end of the contract.
'We are the Guy Fawkes of brewing': Craft beer pioneers BrewDog snub the City with world record £25m crowdfunding bid
The Aberdeenshire based company, which takes pride in its anti-establishment image, wants to raise the cash by offering 526,316 shares to the public through its 'Equity for Punks' scheme. The minimum investment in this latest round is £95 for two shares. BrewDog's management has made no secret of its contempt for banks and financial institutions and today it reiterated its stance. Chief executive, James Watt, said 'We are not Rockefeller. We are Guy Fawkes. We are burning the established system.'
Going away? Don't tell your Facebook friends or risk having your insurance claims rejected
People who post photos of their trip or mention the dates they will be away on social media could have their break-in claims thrown out. And those who allow their phone or tablet to update their Facebook page to reveal where they are at any moment may also be refused a payout. The Financial Ombudsman is concerned that many policyholders do not realise that insurers might check their social media accounts.

New EU rules could stall Britons buying homes abroad with foreign mortgages - and make it trickier for some to buy in Britain
New rules mapped out by the European Union could be about to make it much harder for thousands of Britons to snap up a holiday home on the continent from next March. The Mortgage Credit Directive regulations could also make it more difficult for British workers who receive a portion of their wages in a foreign currency to obtain lending here, experts have warned.
