The 23-year-old met Gough, 43, when they worked together on the Channel 4 show The Jump.

And although they became friends during the five weeks they spent in Austria, she said they never had an affair.

‘Me and Darren got on very well when we were in Austria - as we all did after doing The Jump for five weeks.

‘We were at the bar every night and swapped stories. We had such a laugh together, but that's all it was.

‘I was really upset when that story came out. There's someone who wants money for this rubbish.

‘All of a sudden, he's left his partner for me.'

The reality star continued: ‘I feel like someone's really got it in for me. I just couldn't believe it, my mum had to stay with me because I was so stressed out. I turned my phone off for two days.’

Amy even admitted that she met Gough's partner and the mother of his two sons, Anna.

‘We spoke when Anna came out to Austria. She was a lovely lady.’

‘He told us that they were married, divorced and then got back together. There didn't seem to be problems.’

The fashion designer went on to say that her relationship with Gough is strictly plutonic.

‘It wasn't really flirty, we just got on. He's such a funny guy. When you're at a party you want to be around Darren. I needed that because the show was terrifying.’

Apparently Amy wasn’t the only lady that found Gough appealing: ‘Darren is 43, he's attractive and charismatic. Myself, Anthea (Turner) and Laura (Hamilton) said what a good-looking guy he was. However, all my ex-boyfriends are like models.’

The friends, despite only knowing each other for a short period, have kept in touch.

‘He couldn't believe it. All I can tell you is we haven't had a relationship.

‘How can someone who's known someone else for five weeks break up with their partner over that person.’

Amy also denied she had used the media interest in her and Gough to promote her own range of clothing.

If the "rumours" were going to cause her such distress it's a wonder she started them.
