'I am here to share my life with you': Former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan starts new column where she plans to talk everything from 'plus size fashion to sex'  

As one of the few plus size role models in the Australian media, Casey Donovan hasn't held back in sharing her life with her fans before. 

But now she's set to do so more candidly and regularly than ever, with a regular column in Pinkblitz Magazine where she discusses everything from 'plus size fashion to sex'.

The former Australian Idol winner makes her debut this month, revealing her struggle to find her personal style identity as a bigger woman.

Appearing on the hit reality series as a 'shy teenager', the now 26-year-old said trying to stick to her grunge style while being in the public eye was particularly hard. 

'Fashion was not on my side unless I wanted to look like a pastel coloured Pavlova on a summer's day,' she told the publication.

'Shopping for me was not fun.

'It was merely a chore that I had to do so that I wouldn't walk around in my birthday suit.'

Yet it's not all bad news, with Donovan praising the evolution of fashion options for all body types in recent years. 

'Plus size clothing has really evolved and has put Big, Beautiful and Sexy girls on the map. 

'It's about time the fashion world realised we have money to spend and and we want to look a million bucks even if we are just going to the supermarket.'

She also talks about her early days on Australian Idol, revealing that she originally wanted to study at the Australian Institute Of Music.

Yet it was her step-father Norm who agreed on the condition that she audition for Australian Idol first. 

'I did not want to do it and I was dragged along: kicking, screaming and swearing but I did audition,' she said, which changed the course of her life.

Rounding up her first lengthy column, she added that she was 'here to share my life with you all'. 

'From plus size fashion to sex nothing is off limits. 

'I want to help you to be happy and confident in your own skin, to look and feel great and feel positive vibes.'
