Candid chat: Australian singer Casey Donovan debuted her new column with Pinkblitz Magazine
Appearing on the hit reality series as a 'shy teenager', the now 26-year-old said trying to stick to her grunge style while being in the public eye was particularly hard.
'Fashion was not on my side unless I wanted to look like a pastel coloured Pavlova on a summer's day,' she told the publication.
'Shopping for me was not fun.
On the record: The 26-year-old said she will discuss everything from plus size fashion to her sex life
Found fame: She's best known for winning Australian Idol when she was just a teenager
'It was merely a chore that I had to do so that I wouldn't walk around in my birthday suit.'
Yet it's not all bad news, with Donovan praising the evolution of fashion options for all body types in recent years.
'Plus size clothing has really evolved and has put Big, Beautiful and Sexy girls on the map.
'It's about time the fashion world realised we have money to spend and and we want to look a million bucks even if we are just going to the supermarket.'

Kicking and screaming: She nearly didn't audition for Australian Idol but was encouraged by her step-father
She also talks about her early days on Australian Idol, revealing that she originally wanted to study at the Australian Institute Of Music.
Yet it was her step-father Norm who agreed on the condition that she audition for Australian Idol first.
'I did not want to do it and I was dragged along: kicking, screaming and swearing but I did audition,' she said, which changed the course of her life.
Rounding up her first lengthy column, she added that she was 'here to share my life with you all'.
'From plus size fashion to sex nothing is off limits.
'I want to help you to be happy and confident in your own skin, to look and feel great and feel positive vibes.'
