In action: Corporal Kumar Pun

Corporal Kumar Pun is one Gurkha who will be allowed to remain in Britain for ever.

At the age of 31, he was killed last week in Afghanistan, as he fought for our Queen and country.

Yesterday, his body was flown back to Britain and, if his family wishes it, he will be buried near their home in Kent.

Corporal Pun's death is a timely reminder of the sacrifice he and his fellow Gurkhas have been prepared to make for Britain through the centuries.

It also reminds us of our absolute moral duty to give his comrades-in-arms the right to live in the land for which he died.
