Making a spectacle of himself! Jon Voight forced to don his glasses to read parking meter in Los Angeles
His eyes are clearly not what they used to be.
For movie legend Jon Voight was forced to don his spectacles to read a parking meter in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The Deliverance favourite would have been forgiven for squealing like a pig when he found the LCD display of the device impossible to read.
Mission Impossible: John Voight was struggling to read a parking meter in Los Angeles on Wednesday
The 75-year-old was looking dapper in a blue sports jacket, shirt and casual trousers, though he lost style points for wearing running shoes.
And once the elderly actor also donned his glasses there was no stopping him, and he had soon filled his parking meter with ease.
While his eyesight is fading, it seems Jon's acting skills are as sharp as ever as he is coming off a Golden Globe win for Best Supporting Actor for his turn as Liev Schreiber's father in Ray Donovan.
His character in the Showtime hit Mickey is described as a brutal criminal just released from a 20 year prison stretch.
Making a spectacle of himself: But the quick thinking Oscar winner put on his glasses after a flash of inspiration
Looking to get out: And thanks to his glasses he was soon filling up his parking meter like an old pro
Jon previously said: 'He's a bad guy. He’s a mess. But there’s also some good aspects to him. For one, he’s completely honest.
'That’s a terribly surprisingly element. He says what’s on his mind, and we admire it. He’s the opposite of politically correct. He tells you what he’s thinking.
'And sometimes it’s very shocking, but it’s also endearing in a certain way, too.
'I think that in some way, he’s an interesting portrait of a man – the male animal that we have pretty much attacked over the latter course of my life as a culture.
'That he’s still alive, I think we’re grateful for that.
His hearing's not to good either: He seemed to find it difficult to pick up what was being said on his mobile
V for victory: The jolly star seemed delighted to have overcome his obstacle and filled his meter
