'I don't think there was any ill intention': Miranda Kerr reveals family reconciliation and says she has already spent time with her parents returning to Australia

Miranda Kerr has revealed there is no animosity between herself and her family after her parents made an extraordinary public plea on Australian TV begging the model to get in contact with them.

On Monday she appeared on morning television saying she had reconciled with her once estranged parents, who had told the nation they had not seen their grandson Flynn for more than a year.

Speaking to Channel 7's Sunrise co-host David Koch and presenter Natalie Barr, the 31-year-old said: 'I've seen my family as soon as I've arrived.'

Despite previously strained relationships she said her mother had been over making 'icepops' with her son and said 'it's so good to spend time with them and to finally be back after a year and a half'.

When asked if her parents Therese and John and grandmother Ann, regretted their decision to make their personal life, public on the TV program aired in February, she responded: 'That's a question you'll have to ask them.'

Then asked if she regretted their decision to make a documentary she answered: 'It is what it is. I don't think there was any ill intention.'

The skincare guru and Wonderbra brand ambassador said she thought her parents were 'naive' to do the interview, as reported by Sunday Style this weekend.

'That was kind of done without me knowing about it, and it’s funny because I’d invited them over many times throughout the year and they’d been too busy,' Kerr said of the interview.

'My dad and my brother work for me, and my mum has her own organic line now, and I think the media spun that on them — they weren’t really trying to do anything, they’re just a little naive, unfortunately.'

Orlando Bloom's ex, who returned to Australia on Friday with her three-year-old son, said she told her parents not to do the interview but said she felt for them because, 'they got sucked into a situation and things get edited'.

In the revealing documentary her close-knit family complained of being shut out of the former Victoria's Secret model's life and being kept away from their grandson, who they claimed they had not seen for a year, since the breakdown of Miranda's marriage to Orlando Bloom.

Her father John was particularly clear about his feelings and said he wished his daughter had never gone into modelling, saying: 'After what I know now I would rather she did just marry a nobody because you really can't get that family time by yourself.'

Meanwhile her mother spoke about letting go of her daughter.

She said: 'What I have had to do is let go, and allow her to be assertive and lead her own life and I guess for any mum that's a little bit challenging sometimes to do that.'

Therese has been particularly activate on social media since her daughter's arrival on Friday, posting inspired messages to promote her skincare range, such as: 'Mums are special people and deserve recognition for who they are. We want to recognise you and your mum this month and we have a special offer.'

Meanwhile Miranda will be mixing business with pleasure as she spends her time attending a number of promotional events while in Sydney, including a private high tea and an event for Swarovski, as well as a yoga event for Clear Scalp Hair and Beauty.

The Gunnedah-born beauty also revealed how important structure is to her life, especially as a mother.

'Planning is very important. I make sure I do the small things like going to the park, I had some friends come over and we all went to the beach.'

She also disclosed her latest single You're the boss was 'just a bit of fun' and a 'great opportunity to show another side of herself'.
