The Wembley stadium announcer was forced into an instant U-turn after naming Steven Gerrard as Tuesday night's man of the match just after his sending-off.
He quickly changed his mind and handed the award to Frank Lampard, who scored England's late equaliser from the penalty spot and took over from Gerrard as capain after the Liverpool man was shown the red card.

Glen Johnson deserved MOM in my opinion. He stood out above Lamps and Gerrard.
