It looked like he was releasing his inner cowboy.

Jesse Metcalfe jammed a black hat on his dark hair as he and Autumn Reeser filmed scenes for Hallmark TV movie A Country Wedding in Chilliwack, Canada on Thursday.

The 36-year-old plays a country music superstar whose plans to marry his movie star fiancée become complicated when he reconnects with a childhood friend, played by Autumn, from his rural hometown.

Aside from his cowboy hat, the hunky Dallas star was seen in a black leather jacket over a grey sweatshirt, dark blue jeans and black lace ups as he walked through town, followed by the crew.

In a separate shot he changed into a faded black shirt, beige trousers and well-worn cowboy boots as he chatted to Autumn.

The knuckles of his right hand were bandaged but there was no indication whether he was injured or it was part of his costume.

Autumn looked suitably cowgirl chic in a faded denim jacket over a short, flowery dress and brown cowboy boots.

The 34-year-old Salem star's long red hair was styled in gentle waves that framed her perfectly made-up face.

Jesse is obvious enjoying his time up north. On Tuesday he posted an Instagram shot of himself fishing, captioned: 'Workin' the rod! Almost caught a salmon in the #VedderRiver today on set.'

And on Thursday he shared a snap with a guitar in his hand as he stood in front of a country and western band.

Break in filming: A member of the crew worked in the background as the stars chatted. There was no explanation as to whether the bandage over Jesse's knuckles was for his part or a real injury

'Gettin' the band back together!!! Lol! Thanks to Jordan, Geoff, Mike, Jay and Joe for their support, musicianship and being part one of the coolest moments I've had on set,' Jesse wrote enthusiastically.

A Country Wedding will debut as one of the tentpoles of Hallmark's month-long June Weddings programming event, according to Michelle Vicary, executive VP of programming and publicity for Crown Media Family Networks.

'Our viewers are in for an extra special treat as Jesse Metcalfe makes his terrific on-screen singing debut.'
