Man convicted of killing suburban 16-year-old and dismembering his body with a chain saw

A man accused of killing a suburban Philadelphia teenager and dismembering his body with a chain saw in a drug dispute four years ago has been convicted of first-degree murder.

Jurors in Delaware County deliberated for less than three hours on Friday before convicting 33-year-old Laquanta Chapman in the disappearance of 16-year-old Aaron Turner, The Daily Local News of West Chester reported.

Investigators alleged that Chapman forced Turner into the basement of a Coatesville home in October 2008, stripped him, shot him and then dismembered his body, leaving the remains along the road in trash bags for pickup.

Turner's remains were never found.

The jury came to a quick decision in deciding Chapman's fate.

They began deliberations at 12:15 p.m. on Friday and informed the court that they had reached verdict at 2:56 p.m.

They posed two questions to the judge but otherwise did not want to review any of the exhibits that had been presented during the trial.

Chapman was standing, wearing a white cotton pullover sweater and tan dress slacks, with his head bowed when he heard of the conviction.

Jurors are to return on Thursday to hear arguments on whether Chapman should be sentenced to death or to life in prison without possibility of parole.

Blaylock exclaimed, 'We got our justice,' on her Facebook page.

'Verdict is in... Guilty, Guilty, Guilty, Guilty!!!! Thanks for all your prayers!!!! God is good all the time and all the time God is good,' she added.
