For any young girl, meeting a member of Royalty is an exciting and daunting occasion.

But as this picture shows, things couldn't have gone better for three-year-old Sophie Lewis.

After presenting the Countess of Wessex with a bunch of flowers yesterday, the smartly dressed toddler received a hug.

And with the tot wearing almost identical colours to Sophie, the pair looked picture perfect as they posed for pictures.

Sophie wore a bright purple dress with matching hat as she visited Army medics in Aldershot.

In her role as Colonel in Chief, the Countess presented Afghanistan operational service medals to Army nurses from 22 Field Hospital, who have just returned from operations in Helmand.

Sophie wore a black jacket over her purple dress and had her hair pulled back in a sleek bun.

She smiled broadly as she posed for pictures with the Army medics but saved her biggest smile for a little girl, also called Sophie, who presented her with a bouquet of flowers as she left.

The three-year-old showed she is a mini fashionista in the making by also wearing the same shade as the Countess.

The colour is in vogue after the Queen wore the shade when she visited the rebuilt Jubilee Gardens in London last week.

Her majesty chose a bright purple coat with matching accessories including an on-trend fedora-style felt hat and a purple-trimmed umbrella for the occasion which was part of her Diamond Jubiliee celebrations.

And it's not just the royals who are donning the shade. Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, also chose the colour at her recent book launch.

The author wore a plum Roksanda Ilincic wool-crepe dress, which costs £815, to mark the release of her party guide, Celebrate. The dress was one of four she wore that day.

Sophie's purple outfit was a style set up from her last public appearance when she wore camouflage-patterned body armour and a hard hat. She wore the military gear as she watched members of the three Armed Services participate in her military skills competition in Paderborn, Germany, earlier this month.

While Pippa's dress is lovely and I wouldn't mind a mention of it along with price and where to buy, she does not belong in an article about the Countess of Wessex and Her Majesty. At most she can be placed along side of her sister but never along side of her sister's grandmother-in-law!

So the paper adds in a picture of Pippa and it is her fault???????

Sophie improves with time...she is looking lovely, gracious and relaxed. Pippa is NOT royal, and not even attractive, who cares about someone who cashes in on the fact her sister married into the Royal Family? She has no merits of her own. Louise, Tasmania, Australia

For God's sakes, STOP showing photos of Pippa Middleton in articles purporting to be of the Royal Family.. She has nothing at all to do with lovely and classy Countess Sophie. So why in the world have you stuck her photo here? She is nor a member of the Royal Family. and all your wishful thinking won't make that a reality. I'm quite frankly sick to death of the Middletons. Give it a rest, please. Just give it a rest..

Catherine, on the other hand has yet to make any such gaffs. - - andreasmcc , London, United Kingdom, 03/11/2012 21:22. Right. And the nude pictures were just part of an ordinary royal day. And keeps her head down? Really? Is that why she so often accompanies the Queen, and toured Canada with her husband (not reported by DM), carried out royal engagements and so on. Truly hiding from the world.

It's amazing just how many times Pippa manages to get her name and photo in an article about the Royal Family. Does she pay the media to photograph her?

"Sophie is a credit to the Royal Family...Catherine please take note...Grace" Have you ever read anything about the collpase of her PR company and the Fake Sheikh debacle Grace? Sophie embarrassed the royals well and truly with her antics and that is why she now keeps her head down. Catherine, on the other hand has yet to make any such gaffs.

lovely photo of her and the little girl .in their purple dresses. Sophie seems to be a quiet unassuming member of the royal family and comes across as lovely. She certainly is pretty Just what is Pippa doing though as she is not royalty nor is she wearing purple .
