Windswept wonder! Seemingly ageless Princess Mary has heads turning in form fitting fuchsia frock as she takes wild weather in her stride

She went through a wardrobe full of elegant outfits while attending Queen Margrethe of Denmark's week long birthday celebrations this month.

But it appears Crown Princess Mary still has a couple of show stopping ensembles up her sleeve.

The ageless beauty had heads turning in a stunning fuchsia dress that perfectly hugged her petite frame while attending the official opening of a research festival in the city of Lyngby on Thursday.

A modest knee-length hem showed off the 43-year-old's incredibly toned legs which were further elongated by a pair of nude pumps.

The design's tailored lines meanwhile, did much to highlight her waif-like waist.

Going for a colour block look, Mary teamed the bright dress with a snake-skin patterned clutch in the same shade, and keeping her collar free of bling, opted for a pair of hanging pearl earrings instead.

To finish things off the mother-of-four's brunette locks were tousled into undone waves that wouldn't have gone astray on a red carpet.

She needed to compete with a little wild weather however, and looked quite windswept before she was ushered indoors.

Mary's makeup was left understated so as not to distract from her statement frock and just a pop of pale pink lipstick and dusting of eye shadow was enough to highlight her naturally pretty features.

The Australian-born beauty toured facilities at the Technical University of Denmark as part of her visit.

She met with researchers and examined some of their latest technology before presenting the 2015 Research Communication Award of the year.

Her knockout dress made sure Mary stood out from the crowd who were mostly dressed in dark and monochrome colours.

The Danish royal opted for less of a standout shade just the day before when she helped commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Maternity Foundation in Copenhagen.

A patron of the foundation and doting mother herself, it is no doubt an organisation close to her heart and the royal looked enthused as she met with producers of new healthcare app, The Safe Delivery.

She dressed in a business-like ensemble for the occasion in a pair of tailored trousers that sat high on her waist.

With a flared leg the on-trend pants gave a nod to the seventies and when paired with stiletto heels made her pins appear endless.

She finished off the look with a patterned blouse with a conservative neckline and three quarter sleeves and pulled her hair back into a low ponytail for a polished finish.

Mary's back to back days of events come after a week of celebratory and ceremonious occasions she attended in honour of the Queen's 75th birthday.
