In the picture, Thandie is seen wearing a white dress with a pretty pink bow tied around the waist and white knee-high socks.

Her hair is tied up and she shows off her adorable smile as she gazes over her left shoulder.

It's clear to see the resemblance in the youngster in the flashback photo, and the stunning adult she is today.

Earlier in the day, the 42-year-old was spotted leaving the Bowery Hotel in New York City in a stylish and eye-catching ensemble.

Spell it out in Thandie's Bella Freud sweater

She might have been wearing some bold color block boots and carrying a statement Sophie Anderson bag, but it was Thandie Newton's sweater that really did all the talking when she stepped out for a stroll in New York.

Featuring the words 'Close To My Heart', her grey wool jumper is by Bella Freud, a brand whose iconic slogan styles we've spotted on the likes of Alexa Chung, Kate Moss and Caroline Flack.

Nobody does quirky knitwear quite like the designer, and whilst hearts have been the hottest print to wear for a while, why not spell it out? There's even a little heart logo on the cuff, so you really will be wearing your heart on your sleeve...

Last year, the Hollywood beauty, who was born in London and lived in Zambia for three years before moving to Cornwall with her family, opened up about her childhood on the south west coast, revealing her family were subject to racist abuse.

She said her father Nick, who is white British, tried to protect them – but her mother Nyasha, a Zimbabwean, encouraged her daughter to avoid attracting attention to protect her from racism.

Thandie told The Times: 'It was a beautiful environment but very backward when it came to racial politics... Moving from Zambia to Cornwall in the 1970s was an extraordinary experience.'

The star has been married to Ol Parker for 17 years and has two daughters Ripley, 15, Nico, 11 and one year old son Booker.
