Not so horrifying! Sarah Paulson oozes glamour in semi-sheer vintage dress... after announcing return to American Horror Story

She just announced her return to American Horror Story for its fifth season and will be playing 'the baddest bad girl of them all.'

But Sarah Paulson looked quite prim and proper as she attended the College Television Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The 40-year-old actress oozed glamour in a buttoned up semi-sheer black dress featuring exquisite gold designs.

She carried a little gold clutch and stood tall in black pumps, while accentuating her eyes with generous gold eye-shadow.

Sarah rubbed elbows with the likes of The Flash star Danielle Panabaker.

It's the first time Sarah has been seen since announcing her return to American Horror Story in season 5, which is called Hotel.

She tweeted on April 13: 'I so f**keeeen HAPPY to be able to finally tell you: IM BAAAAAACCK!! #AHSHotel'

AHS showrunner Ryan Murphy tweeted the official announcement of her return and told fans of the series that in season five, they can expect the actress to be 'the baddest bad girl of them all.'

Previously on AHS, Sarah played conjoined twins Bette and Dot, witch Cordelia Foxx, reporter Lana Winters, and psychic medium Billie Dean Howard.

The actress started with a small role in season one of American Horror story in 2011-12, and then returned to star in the next three.

She earned an Emmy nomination for her performance in AHS: Coven.

Back in December, Sarah told The Hollywood Reporter that she's committed to AHS for as long as Murphy wants her on the show.

'I have never felt so completely seen by another director or producer or person before in terms of his willingness time and time again to give me something to do that I didn't even think I was capable of doing,' she said.

'I don't know why in the world I'd want to go elsewhere when I'm getting the best deal in town. I absolutely want to do season five.'

American Horror Story: Hotel will be the first without series leading lady Jessica Lange, who previously announced she would not be returning for a fifth season.

Sarah is joining series stalwarts Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer along with some new faces that include Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson.

She is also attached to Murphy's newest FX project with AHS co-producer Brad Falchuk.

Sarah is set to play prosecutor Marcia Clark in anthology series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson scheduled for a fall 2015 debut.
