'Aging can be fun if you lay back and enjoy it': Clint Eastwood, 84, shares his tricks for making the most of life in the slow lane 

He has made growing older look easy.

And now Clint Eastwood - who saw one of the biggest successes of his career last year with the Bradley Cooper drama American Sniper - has shared his tricks for handling life as a senior citizen with Closer Weekly.

'Aging can be fun if you lay back and enjoy it,' the 84-year-old Oscar winner said.

The publication talked to the iconic director when he attended the Coachella music festival in Indio, California in mid April.

'You know what the big trick is?' asked the actor who has been working ever since 1955's Revenge Of The Creature.

'I have a friend that is in his 90s, and I said to him, "You look real good - what’s the deal?"

'He says, "Never let the old man in." And he never did,' the star added.

Eastwood, who has directed over two dozen movies, is not slowing down when it comes to work.

'There's a rebel lying deep in my soul,' the Dirty Harry star added.

He’s also been enjoying watching his 29-year-old son, Scott (currently starring in The Longest Ride), follow in his famous footsteps.

'I tell him to keep going and do the best you can,' shared Clint.

On Wednesday Clint denied Michael Moore's claim that he threatened to kill him in 2005 as he was honoured at an event as part of CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

'Everyone is saying I threatened to kill Michael Moore – that's not true. But it isn't a bad idea,' he joked as the crowd burst out laughing, according to Deadline.

On a more serious note, the legendary director explained his version of the story behind the incident a decade ago, which Moore recently wrote about while criticizing Eastwood's movie American Sniper.
