Parisian photographer Stephane Domingues travels the world, capturing the essence of what it is to be thirty.
His fascinating project Being 30 aims to define what it is to reach the milestone all over the globe, from Europe and South America to the Omo Valley in Ethiopia.
Looking into the similarities among global thirty-year-olds, Domingues explores how nationality, culture, living environment can effect a person's identity.
He tells Mail Online Travel: 'I think that I can say that I experienced - and still am experiencing - a 30-year-old crisis because I started to question a lot of things that were happening in my life and the life of my friends. Seeing all these weddings and babies around me... it is the beginning of a new kind of life'.
Stefanie Grassley, of New York. ' I don’t really care about being 30, I am confident enough to just do not care'
'I think that i realized how much time is valuable, and that no one can give us this time back... so I decided to get the most of it... which led me to amazing experiences like this project.'
Capturing beautiful images and sharing the daily life of thirty-year-olds he meets on his travels, the project looks at their values, interests, political beliefs as well as talking about the major events in their lives, and their hopes for the future.
'For a lot of people, turning 30 did not change something in itself. It is more the experience that was accumulated throughout the years and the responsibilities and wisdom that came with experiences.
'The thirties are the years during which you give a direction to your life and people tend to get married and have children later and later (this is true in all cities I have visited so far, but of course it is not the case in remote villages in Africa or Myanmar which are far from this "model").
'So far, worries around the world are all the same: covering basic needs, the importance of education, their legacy and the well being of their children and future generations'.
Sindani Langanani Mollel, from a Maasai village in Tanzania. 'Family life is the most important thing for me. I have 5 children of approximately 13, 10, 8, 4 and 2 years old'
Oscar Villarroel Ibarra, a miner from Potosi, Bolivia, wishes for a less dangerous job. Miners in Bolivia are only expected to make it to 55
New York dweller, Matthew Murtha: 'I fear that I won’t have success, have a legacy or won’t be remembered'
'Until I get enough cows, I am young,' says Bori Balachew from the Omo Valley in Ethopia, where a man's wealth is measured in cattle
Gaston Ariel Veliz, from Ushuaia, Argentina, says: 'The way I think today is definitely different than when I was 20'
Julius Budget Msyali, from Malawi, says having children was the real turning point in his life, rather than turning thirty
Faruk Gomes Antonio, of Ilha do Mozambique: 'I do regret that I cheated on my wife once… the consequences were terrible for our family'
Janice Mendes de Querrez, from Sao Paulo, dreams of getting married, having children, travelling as much as possible and writing a book
Beatrice Elizabeth Banda Chikoti, from Likoma, Malawi: ' I am not alone anymore, I have a family and I have to make concessions'
'Girls told me I’ve changed, that I am less immature,' says Zoltan Varga, a project manager at a web developer company, from Budapest
Anne Hangouet, from Paris, features in the project saying 'Thirty is the age of reason: the moment when you trade childhood for wisdom'
Magdalena Céspedes, of Puerto Tranquilo, Chile: 'I see myself as a young woman and feel young! I feel I still have so much to do in life.'
