'Like living with a drug addict': Blake Lively reveals the ups and downs of motherhood ... but says she definitely wants more babies

Blake Lively has quite the sense of humour - comparing motherhood to 'living with a drug addict'.

The former Gossip Girl star told the LA Times that her four-month-old daughter's unpredictable moods and poopy tendencies takes a lot of patience and balancing work.

'Having a baby is just living in the constant unexpected,' said the actress, who was promoting her new film The Age Of Adeline. 'You never know when you're gonna get crapped on or when you're gonna get a big smile or when that smile immediately turns into hysterics. It might be like living with a drug addict.'

Blake Lively is having a fashion moment. Or actually she's having multiple fashion moments as she promotes her new movie, The Age of Adeline.

The actress has rocked some seriously high end labels in the last few days and here's just a selection; Antonio Berardi, Marc Jacobs, Roksanda, Ralph & Russo, Balmain, Monique Lhuillier, John Galliano and Zuhair Murad. Phew.

However she revealed that having babies is 'addictive', and that she is certainly considering having more.

'But you have a baby and you think, "I can't imagine ever not having a baby," because they grow up so quickly. I'd be an 80-year-old woman with a baby if I could.'

The 27-year-old married actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012, and the couple gave birth to their first child in December.

They are notoriously private about the little girl and have yet to even share a picture of her; indeed her unusual name was only confirmed months afterwards.

The actress even asked the LA Times interviewer not to describe the child in the article, jokingly adding, 'Please don't describe my areolas, either', as she breastfed.

The Los Angeles native admitted that her most famous role - Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl - was not her best work.

'You're part of this machine - this pop culture phenomenon - but as an actor, the quality of your work is definitely compromised because of that,' she said.

'When I finished the last season, I didn't feel good at it anymore. I didn't feel stimulated. It had become muscle memory, but not good muscle memory - like bad-habit muscle memory.'

She claimed that because of the hit TV show's rigorous production schedule, its producers weren't too bothered about the quality either. 'If it was about the content, they wouldn't hand us our script pages minutes before shooting,' she pointed out.

She conceded she was better at managing her lifestyle website Preserve than she as at acting.

'I'm a lot better at this than I am at acting,' she said. 'I always feel like I'm faking it when I'm acting. I do the best I can do to tell the story in the best way, but I always feel really lucky when I get a job.

'I feel confident when I'm cooking or decorating,' she added. 'It's something I control beginning, middle and end. That ownership feels good.'

In her latest film The Age of Adeline, Lively plays a woman who stops ageing after a car accident, opposite Michael Huisman, Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn.

Burstyn, who is 82 yet plays Lively's daughter in the film, told the LA Times that 'Ryan's a wonderful man - the two of them together are a spectacular couple.

'Now that she's a mother, I have a feeling she's going to be pulled more and more to staying home,' she added.
