I need some blow-drying tips...

I have quite coarse, curly hair and whenever I try to blow it dry, it just goes all dry and frizzy. When I get it done professionally, it comes out straight, shiny, and perfect.

Is there any way I can achieve that at home without spending a small fortune on products?
