The evergreen 45-year-old actress rocked an androgynous chic ensemble that was spot on as she wore a black suit featuring white diamonds patterned all over it along with strappy black leather stilettos.

She also wore a smart white shirt with a long black scarf-tie as she accessorised the look with a black leather clutch.

The Mummy actress kept with the androgynous theme by pulling back her raven-coloured locks in an elegant updo as she had natural, complimentary make-up on her face topped off with a swipe of bright red lipstick, which matched with the lacquer on her finger and toes.

Sparkle and smile like Lena in Mary Katrantzou

Lena Dunham is a riot on and off the red carpet. Her exuberant personality and charisma shows through her fashion choices. Whether its bright stripes or bold florals, she's having a laugh with fashion. There could be no better match for Lena than the dress she selected from Mary Katrantzou's Fall 2014 collection.

Mary Katrantzou is a fashion editor's dream with her whimsical, intellectual and 3-dimensional designs. Her designs are always style spotted on the zeitgeist of fashion, Anna Della Russo and other icons throughout fashion week.

With such a striking design and painstaking embellishments, we would keep the rest of the outfit simple like Lena did and allow everyone to focus on the dress. We found a similar print dress at Farfetch by Mary Katrantzou but without the embellishments. However if you're looking for a something with a lot of sparkle and shine, check out our sequinned selections below.

The American star was honoured for speaking out against sex trafficking, through support of non-profit Girls Educational & Mentoring Services.

Women's right issues are very close to her heart and that was evident when the self proclaimed feminist had her turn to address those in attendance

Lena took to the podium with a powerful message as she said: 'When I was raped I felt powerless. I felt my body was not my own.'

The Tiny Furniture director famously chronicled how she found out she was date raped at a college party in her New York Times best seller book Not That Kind Of Girl released last year.
