Voodoo Child! Lily Collins wears Jimi Hendrix jumper on a chic shopping trip before baking cupcakes for her friends

Being friends with Lily Collins certainly has its benefits.

Because as well as having a wardrobe well-worth raiding, the actress is a big fan of making cupcakes for her pals for no reason at all.

Before an afternoon of baking on Friday, Lily decided to treat herself to a luxury shopping trip at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills.

The 26-year-old looked gorgeous in a casual outfit, showcasing her love of the Jimi Hendrix Experience with a black jumper that had 'Voodoo Child' splashed across it in colourful lettering.

As the daughter of Phil Collins, it's hardly a surprise that Lily is a big music fan.

The Love, Rosie star also sported black tapered trousers, tan sandals with a chunky black heel and a two-tone black and white cross-body bag with tan strap.

Lily wore natural make-up, highlighting her strong eyebrows and adding a slick of dark lipstick, and wore a pair of black retro sunglasses atop her crop of chestnut brown hair.

Before heading inside the store - which is very popular with LA based celebrities - the brunette was seen chatting to a male friend.

Later that day, Lily enjoyed making some sweet treats at home, and joked that she was using her skills in the kitchen to try and win people over.

'Baking friends one cupcake at a time. Why? Because it's Friday and I could #Doineedabetterreason?' she shared on Instagram.

Lily posted a photo of the delicious looking chocolate cakes, which were decorated with different toppings including sprinkles and googly eyes.

Say it in Lily's McQ slogan sweatshirt

She may be the daughter of Phil Collins, but Lily showed her appreciation for another rocker musician in her latest ensemble. Sorry, dad!

The brunette beauty paid homage to Jimmy Hendrix' 1968 hit 'Voodoo Child' with her graphic slogan sweatshirt, which she paired with joggers, lace-up heels and a serious side order of cool. Slogan sweatshirts are hardly reinventing the fashion wheel, but when we spot one as fab as this number, we want in!

Lily's top is McQ - the slightly more affordable line of Alexander McQueen - and we're digging the graphic print and boxy cut. In fact we're already having visions of swanning around with it on, leather jacket slung over it, batting off compliments with an airy 'oh, this old thing..?'
