Frank Lampard is out for at least a fortnight after a recurrence of the calf strain which ruled him out of two World Cup qualifiers, Roberto di Matteo has confirmed.

Lampard, who limped out of Chelsea’s defeat by Shakhtar Donetsk, misses the Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday and the return with Shakhtar.

There will be repercussions for England, who go to Sweden for a friendly next month, and manager Roy Hodgson could be tempted to speed up Jack Wilshere's return.

Speaking on Friday afternoon, Di Matteo said: 'He is going to be out for a few weeks. He's got a calf problem, so we will miss him and it's a big loss for us.

'Apart from him everybody else is fit. Marko Marin might be in the squad for Sunday.'

Fat Frank should have never been given that last long contract. He's been crocked for the past 2 seasons and its time he hung up his boots until his testimonial.

RDM, it is time to add Moses (and the others) into the team. You can see in the photo Mata as the inspirator, Oscar holding the ball the serious one, Hazard the team player and Moses as strong as Dider. With this quartet ( and more) we can win the PL.

Your comments: Man oh man, Frankie, I think the sun has set on you. You gave us many moments of joy, but I think it is time to consider a new beginning. No shame on that. MLS?

There is a new breed of young Chelsea stars now but few can match his clinical scoring record and none can compete with his absolute commitment on the park.

Give him a rest next time, don't play him as soon as he's available.

If I'm to choose who this injury should visit between Lampard and Torres, I know who to choose... Hint: a player who once said he didn't care if chelsea lost any match and is actually now showing it on the pitch.

Ease off the burgers, Frank. Maybe that will help with the injuries.
