Lorry driver appears in court charged with murder as family pay tribute to tragic grandfather 'killed' at the side of the road

Police have named a motorist allegedly murdered by a lorry driver.
Trevor Allen, 56, from Manchester, was discovered lying in the carriageway in Manchester Road, Rixton, near Warrington, on Saturday morning.
He was found near his vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, his family said: 'Trevor was an amazing, caring dad, granddad, brother, uncle, son and friend to many.
'His
smile and charm made the room light up when he walked in.
'Loved by all who knew him, he is irreplaceable and will be very sadly missed.'
Mark
Slater, 46, of Oldham, was arrested at the scene and was today charged
with Mr Allen’s murder.
Earlier this morning he appeared before Runcorn Magistrates’ Court.
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance before Chester Crown Court on Wednesday.
Police were first called to the A57 Manchester Road in Rixton, near Warrington, on Saturday morning at around 8.15am.
When officers arrived they found a man was dead in the road close to his car.
A spokesman said: 'Cheshire Police attended an incident at Manchester Road, Rixton, Warrington, at 8.15am on Saturday following reports that a man was deceased.

'At the scene, a 46 year old male from North Manchester, believed to be the driver of a DAF articulated lorry was arrested on suspicion of murder.
'An unidentified white male believed to be associated with an untended car nearby was declared dead at the scene.'
